1. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you use the Services, you may choose to provide information such as:
- Account information — such as your name, email address, or Sign in with Apple identifier, if you create an account.
- Baby Tracker entries — details you log about your child, such as a first name or nickname, date of birth, feeding, sleep, diaper, growth, and milestone records.
- Diary content — journal entries, notes, moods, and any photos you choose to add.
- Communications — messages you send us, such as support requests or feedback.
Information collected automatically
We may automatically collect limited technical information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, crash reports, and general usage information (for example, which features are used). This information is used to keep the Services reliable and secure and does not by itself identify you.
Information from Apple
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information (such as subscription status) needed to provide paid features.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including syncing your data across your devices when you enable it;
- Enable features you choose to use, such as sharing a tracker with a partner or caregiver;
- Respond to your questions and provide support;
- Understand how the Services are used so we can fix problems and improve them;
- Send service-related messages, such as important updates or changes to our terms;
- Protect the safety and security of the Services and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of your Baby Tracker or Diary entries for advertising.
3. How we share information
We share information only as described below:
- With people you choose. If you invite a partner, family member, or caregiver to a shared tracker or diary, they will be able to see the content you share with them.
- Service providers. We work with trusted providers who help us operate the Services (for example, cloud hosting, crash reporting, and customer support). They may access information only as needed to perform services for us and are required to protect it.
- Apple. If you use iCloud sync or Sign in with Apple, your data is handled in accordance with Apple’s privacy policy.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of heymama, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If heymama is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Information about children
Our Services are designed for parents and caregivers, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
Our Apps allow parents and caregivers to record information about their child. This information is provided by, and remains under the control of, the parent or caregiver. You may review, edit, export, or delete it at any time. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
5. Storage, security & transfers
Where possible, your data is stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud account or our secure cloud servers. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the Services and for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
7. Your choices & rights
- Access, correct, and export — you can view and edit your entries in the Apps at any time.
- Delete — you can delete individual entries, or delete your account and associated data from within the App settings or by contacting us.
- Notifications — you can turn off notifications in the App or in your device settings.
- Permissions — you control access to your camera, photos, and other device features through your device settings.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as the right to request a copy of your data, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@heymama.me. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Cookies & analytics
Our Website uses only essential technologies needed for it to function and may use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics to understand overall traffic. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Apps. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
